Badger supports organic, sustainable agriculture through all of their purchasing practices. Organic buying means healthy air, healthy water, healthy earth and healthy people. For example, they purchase organically grown and processed olive oil (their #1 ingredient) from an organic farmers' cooperative in Spain. They use enough olive oil to represent approximately 10,000 naturally cultivated trees basking in the sun.

Badger donates 7% of their before tax profits to non-profit organizations which focus on the healthcare & welfare of children (including environmental education), local organizations serving the local community and the promotion of peace. On a daily basis, Badger composts and recycles in a concerted effort to reduce waste and our impact on the environment.

We discovered the Badger line through someone who had been experiencing extreme sleeping problems, and found great relief with the Badger Sleep Balm. We decided to try the products and have been very impressed with the quality and with the company itself. The products are created right here in New Hampshire. They do no animal testing and many of the products are very effective in helping to alleviate the discomforts of our four footed companions as well as our own. Most of the ingredients used in the Badger products are organic or otherwise ecologically cultivated and produced. The remedies are formulated based on principles that have proven safe and effective for thousands of years.

Badger tins are made from 78% post consumer recycled material.

Their catalogs are printed on 100% recycled paper. The paper is oxygen bleached and printed with earth friendly dyes.

Their office paper is made from 100% post consumer pulp produced in a chlorine free pulping and bleaching process. As a company they are getting more efficient at using one-side-used scrap paper for inter-office use.

They use local artisans and suppliers whenever possible.

Badger does not test on animals.

Badger tins are recyclable. They are made of "tinned steel," which we commonly refer to as tin cans. (Some people save them and use them to organize buttons, drill bits, etc.)

Their ingredients are 100% natural and more than 70% of all ingredients used in Badger products are organic. Other remaining ingredients are ecologically harvested or wild-crafted.

Badger is committed to improving our environmental business practices. To that end they work closely with a volunteer Environmental Concerns Committee whose purpose is to instill environmental awareness in all business decisions and help the company grow ecologically.

Badger Healing Balm

Sore Muscle Rub

As the developer says: "You can easily see the inspiration for creating the Massage Therapy Oil and Sore Muscle Rub–Sore Muscles. That was the motivation; Ginger and Cayenne were the cure. Both the Massage Therapy Oil and the Sore Muscle Rub have an absolutely terrific Lemon, Ginger and Rosemary fragrance supplemented by our carefully prepared Cayenne Extract. They're both good for the skin, and they provide gentle, penetrating warmth. Apply prior to workouts to keep muscles and joints warm, after workouts to reduce soreness and anytime you have muscle and joint stiffness, whether from hard work or hard play, to help support your body’s natural ability to heal itself. Badger Sore Joint Soother

Sore Joint Rub with powerful Arnica and Black Pepper CO2 Extracts. The Arnica flower is well known for its remarkable muscle and joint soothing qualities and for aiding muscles and joints in recovery from injury. CO2 Black Pepper Oil is a circulatory stimulant. As such, it can help soothe the discomfort associated with poor circulation, general stiffness, sprains, and sciatica. The black pepper fragrance is said to support mental clarity and focus. And, as with all of our Sore Muscle Rub blends, SMR-J has a natural fragrance that is sublime.

Badger Headache Soother

Badger Sleep Balm

The developer of the Sleep Balm describes its development: "Sleep Balm was an accidental discovery! I wanted to make a "Sore Mind Balm", one that would clear your thoughts in the middle of the day. Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, and Cardamom cleanse and heal. The oils and waxes in our illustrious Foot Balm soothe and soften the dry parts and revive the tired parts. Essential oils have a known anti-bacterial effect yet they are safe and wonderfully fragrant for your feet. This is a good thing. And foot rubbing stimulates reflex zones.

Badger Anti-Bug Balm

This wonderful balm is made of essential oils with natural insect repellent properties, like Lemon Eucalyptus and Tea Tree. The heavier, large molecule oils of Patchouli and Sandalwood have been added to give the balm a longer lasting effectiveness. The Anti-Bug Balm smells nice and is actually good for the skin while repelling insects. It's safe for use on children and pets. Keep in mind that any product strong enough to repel bugs may be irritating to some skin so test a small area before applying liberally.

Badger Evolving Body Balm

According to the Badger creator: "If you were the Queen of some ancient civilization, you would have commanded your alchemist to formulate this stuff. So, how did we Humble Badgers make it? My wife, Katie Badger said, 'Hey Bill, you need to make an Evolving Body Balm.' 'What's that?' I asked, intrigued by the name. 'You know, when you're young and pregnant you get stretch marks. When you grow a little older, your skin changes. Eventually, you get wrinkles. This would be something to keep your skin healthy as you change and evolve.' To my credit, I didn't respond by saying, 'I'm a guy. I never change and evolve.' Instead I said, 'Wrinkle, Shrinkle and Crinkle Care . . I  can do this.' I knew of the miraculous, skin-healing properties of the Sea Buckthorn Berry. I knew that extracts of Rose Hip and calendula were reputed to be exceptionally restorative for stressed and damaged skin. Into the Secret Badger Lab. Mix and test. Formulate and ponder. A little Oil of Rose, Perhaps? The fragrance is lovely and the therapeutic effect, beyond compare. Badger Winter Wonder Balm

Aromatic Chest Rub & Steam Inhalant.  A pleasant, sinus-clearing rub with the fragrance of Eucalyptus & Mint. Rosemary and Tea Tree, are traditional remedies that have been used to treat upper respiratory conditions for generations. Tests have shown them to exhibit significant anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. Use Winter Wonder Balm as an aromatic chest rub or for a soothing herbal steam (half a teaspoon full in steaming water.) Don't feel limited by "Winter", use it year round.
