W.S. Badger Company

We discovered the Badger line through someone who had been experiencing extreme sleeping problems, and found great relief with the Badger Sleep Balm.  We decided to try the products and have been very impressed with the quality and with the company itself. The products are created right here in New Hampshire. They do no animal testing and many of the products are very effective in helping to alleviate the discomforts of our four footed companions as well as our own. Most of the ingredients used in the Badger products are organic or otherwise ecologically cultivated and produced. The remedies are formulated based on principles that have proven safe and effective for thousands of years.  Read on for a message by the developer of these formulas:

"Welcome to the Badger Mines. Back in the winter of 1993, I was a carpenter with cracked fingers. I also loved working with herbs and natural remedies. This turned out to be a fortunate coincidence. As fate would have it, I went into my kitchen and made up a batch of what later became Badger Healing Balm. It healed my fingers and a business was born.

We make really good stuff. The main ingredient in all of our balms for instance, is Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. We use it because we feel it is the most therapeutic of all skin care oils. When you imagine some ancient Mediterranean goddess lounging by her baths and anointing herself with precious oils, extra virgin olive oil was "the balm." Speaking of precious oils, all of our essential oils are naturally processed and most of them are either organically grown or otherwise ecologically produced. They come to us from the four corners of the Earth. They smell great and they have the ability to uplift body, mind and spirit. It's strange, but you can be feeling down, breathe in the fragrance of bergamot or tangerine and find yourself transported to a totally different place.

We Badgers tend to trust the obvious. In our case, the obvious includes essential oils and herbal extracts that have been used safely and effectively across continents and cultures for thousands of years.

Although our products are not medicines or drugs, they are natural remedies that support your body's innate ability to heal itself.

We are a small company working hard to do good things in the world. If you have any questions or if there are ways that we can help you, feel free to ask. Nice talking with you."

How Green is Badger?

Healing Products - Healthy Business
100% Natural - Mostly Organic - Totally Good!

Badger supports organic, sustainable agriculture through all of their purchasing practices. Organic buying means healthy air, healthy water, healthy earth and healthy people. For example, they purchase organically grown and processed olive oil (their #1 ingredient) from an organic farmers' cooperative in Spain. They use enough olive oil to represent approximately 10,000 naturally cultivated trees basking in the sun.

Environmentally supportive Badger

Badger tins are recyclable. They are made of "tinned steel," which we commonly refer to as tin cans. (Some people save them and use them to organize buttons, drill bits, etc.)

Their ingredients are 100% natural and more than 70% of all ingredients used in Badger products are organic. Other remaining ingredients are ecologically harvested or wild-crafted.

Badger is committed to improving our environmental business practices. To that end they work closely with a volunteer Environmental Concerns Committee whose purpose is to instill environmental awareness in all business decisions and help the company grow ecologically.

Badger tins are made from 78% post consumer recycled material.

Their catalogs are printed on 100% recycled paper. The paper is oxygen bleached and printed with earth friendly dyes.

Their office paper is made from 100% post consumer pulp produced in a chlorine free pulping and bleaching process. As a company they are getting more efficient at using one-side-used scrap paper for inter-office use.

They use local artisans and suppliers whenever possible.

Badger does not test on animals.

Badger products - pure and wonderful

Badger donates 7% of their before tax profits to non-profit organizations which focus on the healthcare & welfare of children (including environmental education), local organizations serving the local community and the promotion of peace. On a daily basis, Badger composts and recycles in a concerted effort to reduce waste and our impact on the environment.
